Pixie is a simple desktop photo manager for everyday people, not professionals. Point it at the folders where your photos already live and browse them by date, folder and place. Pixie never moves or changes your originals.
Status: early development. Pixie is under active development and is not released yet. The download buttons below will go live when the first versions are ready.

What Pixie does
- Your photos stay where they are. Pixie indexes your folders in place, in the background, and rescans only what changed.
- Fast browsing. Thumbnails are built in the background and cached, so large libraries scroll smoothly.
- By date, folder and place. Photos are grouped under day headings, and a tree lets you jump to a year, month, day or folder.
- Find people and things. Pixie adds Auto tags and groups the faces it finds so you can look up photos by person.
- Maps. For photos with GPS, see where they were taken, with the place name in your language.
- Common formats. JPEG, PNG, WebP, TIFF and HEIC.
Privacy
Pixie works offline and your photos never leave your computer. The one exception is the map: when you select a photo that has GPS, Pixie sends that photo’s coordinates, and nothing else, to OpenStreetMap and Wikipedia to show the map and name the place. With no network, everything else keeps working.
