Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 9, 2026

Jolly Good Software (“we”, “us”) makes Ear Ring, an ear-training app for musicians. This page explains what the app does and doesn’t do with your data.

Microphone access

Ear Ring asks for microphone access to detect the pitch of notes you sing or play back. This audio is analyzed entirely on your device in real time. It is never recorded, saved, transmitted off your device, or heard by us or anyone else.

Information we collect

Ear Ring does not require an account and does not collect your name, email address, or any other personal information. We do not use analytics or advertising services, and the app does not display ads.

Data stored on your device

Your practice history, streaks, and settings (such as instrument and scale preferences) are stored locally on your device only. This data is never sent to us or to any third party. Uninstalling the app removes it.

App store platforms

Ear Ring is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Those platforms may collect data under their own privacy policies (for example, to process a purchase or measure downloads) — that data collection is governed by Apple’s and Google’s privacy policies, not this one.

Children’s privacy

Ear Ring is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information from any user.
